It's hard not to get choked up looking at this photo. It's a black cop protecting a KKK guy during a KKK march. It's what is so great about America. The cop is doing his job, upholding the KKK's constitutional right to free speech. That the KKK's message was probably repugnant to him, and to most, including me, didn't matter. They had the right to say it.
One has to wonder if this one cop's actions helped the clearly frightened KKK guy see the world a little differently afterward.
